The Lobby Bar is rooted in the history of Oshawa’s iconic Genosha Hotel. Built in the golden age of rail travel, the Genosha was once the city’s premier gathering place. Royalty visited, Ian Fleming - author of James Bond - spent time here during his Camp X training, it was the place to be. The ballroom came alive with the sounds of big bands and late night dancing.

Today, Summers & Co. has brought new life to the Genosha, transforming its main floor into a vibrant food hall. At its heart sits the Lobby Bar, marble tops, chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows, designed as a place to connect and linger.

For us, it’s personal. Working abroad and spending years travelling, always finding comfort in the world’s great lobby bars, places where you could savour a perfect coffee, discover a new wine, enjoy Afternoon Tea, or start the evening with friends. That timeless sense of welcome is what we’ve brought home to downtown Oshawa.

By day, the Lobby Bar is your retreat for expertly prepared coffee, light bites, and conversation. By night, it’s the spot for friends, couples, and nights out, whether it’s cocktails before the theatre, a relaxed date night, or a spirited evening with friends.

Everything carries the Berry Hill touch: real ingredients, house-made syrups, seasonal flavours, and cocktails crafted with care. Our hospitality is what we call “island style” - casual and relaxed, but with just enough polish to remind you you’re being taken care of.

We want the Lobby Bar to be known as Oshawa’s perfect meeting place; for Afternoon Tea, for craft Beer, cocktails, or for simply slowing down with coffee in a historic space that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.
